- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups mashed potatoes, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onions over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
- Add the mushrooms, beef broth, milk, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Mix well and let it simmer for a minute.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until heated through and bubbly.
- Serve over mashed potatoes, adding optional butter or parsley for garnish.
Notes
This dish can be made a day in advance and reheated. It also freezes well for future meals.
