Cheesy Garlic Bread

Ingredients
1 loaf of French or Italian bread (about 14 oz)
1/2 cup salted butter, softened
3 to 4 cloves of garlic, minced (or 1 tablespoon of garlic powder)
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise and place both halves cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over both halves of the bread.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan evenly over the buttered bread halves.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 12 to 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
For an extra crispy top, switch to broil for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, watching carefully.
Once out of the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired, slice into pieces, and serve warm.
Notes
For added flavor, feel free to customize with sun-dried tomatoes or cooked bacon bits.
