- 1 loaf of French or Italian bread (about 14 oz)
- 1/2 cup salted butter, softened
- 3 to 4 cloves of garlic, minced (or 1 tablespoon of garlic powder)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise and place both halves cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over both halves of the bread.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan evenly over the buttered bread halves.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 12 to 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- For an extra crispy top, switch to broil for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, watching carefully.
- Once out of the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired, slice into pieces, and serve warm.
