Chili Cheese Tater Tot Casserole: A Family Favorite Dish!

Ingredients
1 bag of frozen tater tots
2 cans of chili (with or without beans)
2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup of sour cream
1/2 cup of chopped green onions
Pickled jalapenos (optional)
Crumbled bacon (optional)
A handful of chopped cilantro (optional)

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) with a rack in the middle position.
Spread the frozen tater tots evenly across the bottom of a large baking dish.
Pour the chili over the tater tots, spreading it evenly.
Top with shredded cheddar cheese generously.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serve with a dollop of sour cream and sprinkle with chopped green onions; add optional jalapenos or bacon if desired.
Notes
For a crispier top, broil for the last 2-3 minutes, but keep a close eye on it. You can use ground beef or turkey instead of canned chili for a fresher flavor.
