Description

Crispy, cinnamon-coated churro donut bites that combine the flavor of classic churros with the ease of a simple dough, perfect for impressing guests or enjoying yourself.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup sugar for rolling
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • Chocolate or caramel dip for serving

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Heat until boiling.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour and baking powder until well combined.
  3. Allow to cool slightly, then add vanilla and mix until smooth.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan until hot but not smoking.
  5. Using a piping bag, pipe small circles of dough into the hot oil.
  6. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  8. In a shallow dish, mix sugar and cinnamon, then roll churro bites while warm.
  9. Serve with chocolate or caramel dip.

Notes

Fry in small batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Let the dough cool slightly before adding vanilla to preserve the flavor.
