- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup sugar for rolling
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- Chocolate or caramel dip for serving
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Heat until boiling.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour and baking powder until well combined.
- Allow to cool slightly, then add vanilla and mix until smooth.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan until hot but not smoking.
- Using a piping bag, pipe small circles of dough into the hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a shallow dish, mix sugar and cinnamon, then roll churro bites while warm.
- Serve with chocolate or caramel dip.
Notes
Fry in small batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Let the dough cool slightly before adding vanilla to preserve the flavor.
