  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan thoroughly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in the buttermilk.
  4. Gradually combine the dry and wet ingredients. Mix just until combined — do not overmix.
  5. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While baking, prepare the topping: mix sugar and cinnamon; melt butter separately.
  7. Cool the loaf in the pan for 10 minutes. Remove, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar topping.
  8. Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
