Description
Cinnamon sugar loaf with a buttery crust and soft center — perfect for cozy mornings or afternoon tea.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan thoroughly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in the buttermilk.
- Gradually combine the dry and wet ingredients. Mix just until combined — do not overmix.
- Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While baking, prepare the topping: mix sugar and cinnamon; melt butter separately.
- Cool the loaf in the pan for 10 minutes. Remove, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar topping.
- Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
