Ingredients

- 1 lb sausage (pork, chicken, or turkey)
- 4 large potatoes, diced (Russets or Yukon Gold)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup cheddar cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: green onions, bacon bits
Instructions
- In a large pot or Crock Pot, brown the sausage over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
- Stir in the diced potatoes and chicken broth.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 20-30 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
- Stir in the heavy cream and cheddar cheese (if using) until melted and combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with optional toppings if desired.
Notes
Brown the sausage well for the best flavor. Ensure potato sizes are even for consistent cooking.
