Creamy Tomato Garlic Pasta

Ingredients
8 oz pasta of choice
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)

Instructions
Cook
the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In
a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
Add
crushed tomatoes and stir well; let simmer for 5-7 minutes.
Reduce
heat and stir in heavy cream and dried basil. Season with salt and pepper.
Add
cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce.
Serve
hot, garnished with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
For added richness, consider using half and half with a tablespoon of butter if you don't have heavy cream.
