- 200g pasta (fettuccine or penne)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 400g canned diced tomatoes
- 200ml heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the canned diced tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes, allowing the mixture to thicken slightly.
- Lower the heat and mix in the heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing it to coat in the creamy sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
Keep a little pasta water on standby to adjust the sauce consistency. Avoid overcooking the pasta and burning the garlic.
