Creamy Tomato Garlic Pasta

Ingredients
8 oz pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine)
2 tbsp olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, with juices
1 cup heavy cream
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil for garnish
Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions
Cook
the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Heat
olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
Add
the canned diced tomatoes with juices and Italian seasoning to the skillet. Stir and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
Reduce
heat and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until heated through.
Season
with salt and pepper to taste.
Add
the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
Serve
hot, garnished with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
For a twist, add red pepper flakes for heat or switch up the protein with cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
