Description
Turn old blue crayons into magical raindrop suncatchers with this fun and creative wax-melting craft for kids!
Ingredients
- Blue crayons
- Pencil or crayon sharpener
- Waxed paper
- Iron (for adult use only)
- Scissors
Instructions
- Select your favorite blue crayons and peel off the wrappers.
- Use a sharpener to create shavings from the crayons. Spread them on a large sheet of waxed paper.
- Cut a second sheet of waxed paper and place it over the shavings.
- With an adult’s help, gently iron over the top sheet on the lowest setting until the crayon shavings melt.
- Let the wax cool completely and harden.
- Draw raindrop shapes on the cooled wax and cut them out with scissors.
- Punch a hole at the top of each raindrop and thread with embroidery floss or string.
- Hang near a window for a beautiful, blue display of handmade raindrop suncatchers!
Notes
Try layering different shades of blue or adding a hint of white for a cloudy effect. Always supervise children when using an iron.
