- 2 to 3 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- French rolls or hoagie buns
- Sliced provolone or Swiss cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
- Sprinkle the onion soup mix over the roast.
- Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Remove the roast from the crockpot and shred it with two forks.
- Serve the shredded beef on French rolls or hoagie buns and top with cheese.
- Strain the remaining broth for a rich au jus dip on the side.
Notes
For extra flavor, broil the sandwiches briefly after assembling. Always remember to strain the au jus for clear dipping liquid.
