Ingredients
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cooking spray or oil for the waffle iron

Instructions
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
In a large bowl, mix together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk together the almond milk, honey or maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or oil.
Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions until golden brown.
Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Let the batter rest for a couple of minutes before cooking for fluffier waffles.
