Garlic Parmesan Herb Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water (about 100-110°F)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
  • 6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 to 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon butter, split for topping
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine yeast, sugar, and warm water in a large bowl and let it sit until foamy.
  2. Stir in salt, herbs, and garlic until well blended.
  3. Add 2 cups of flour and parmesan cheese, mixing to form a sticky dough.
  4. Gradually add more flour until the dough is soft and stretchy.
  5. Oil a bowl, place dough inside, cover, and let it rise for about an hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking sheet.
  7. Punch down the dough, divide it into two balls, and shape into rounds on the baking sheet.
  8. Cover and let them rise for an additional 15-20 minutes.
  9. Brush butter on top of each dough round before baking.
  10. Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden and hollow sounding when tapped.
  11. Remove from oven, cool slightly, and serve warm.

Notes

  1. For extra flavor, feel free to experiment with different cheeses or herbs. If you're short on time, make smaller rolls for quicker baking.
