- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 8 slices of provolone cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the sliced onion until soft.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Season with salt and pepper.
- Preheat the oven or a toaster oven to broil.
- Place the hoagie rolls on a baking tray and fill each with the beef and onion mixture.
- Top with provolone cheese slices.
- Broil for about 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For best flavor, use fresh onion and taste the beef as you season it. Avoid overcrowding the skillet for better browning.
