Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices of provolone cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the sliced onion until soft.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Preheat the oven or a toaster oven to broil.
  4. Place the hoagie rolls on a baking tray and fill each with the beef and onion mixture.
  5. Top with provolone cheese slices.
  6. Broil for about 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh onion and taste the beef as you season it. Avoid overcrowding the skillet for better browning.
