Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 oz provolone cheese, or cheese of choice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. Add sliced onion and sauté until soft and a little caramelized.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Once the beef is cooked, lower the heat and add cheese on top, allowing it to melt.
  5. Toast the hoagie rolls lightly and fill them with the beef and cheese mixture.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  1. For a spicier kick, add crushed red pepper or hot sauce while cooking the beef. Feel free to substitute ground turkey, cheese, or bread type as per your preference.
