- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 8 oz provolone cheese, or cheese of choice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.
- Add sliced onion and sauté until soft and a little caramelized.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season with salt and pepper.
- Once the beef is cooked, lower the heat and add cheese on top, allowing it to melt.
- Toast the hoagie rolls lightly and fill them with the beef and cheese mixture.
- Serve hot and enjoy immediately.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add crushed red pepper or hot sauce while cooking the beef. Feel free to substitute ground turkey, cheese, or bread type as per your preference.
