Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- Cooking spray
- Additional sugar and cinnamon for coating
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the water and applesauce and stir until a dough forms.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Using a spoon, scoop small amounts of the dough and shape them into bite-sized balls.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the dough balls in a single layer.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- In a separate bowl, mix additional sugar and cinnamon.
- Once the churro bites are cooked, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture while they are still warm.
- Serve warm and enjoy your healthier churro bites!

Keep your hands wet while shaping the balls to prevent sticking. Don’t overcrowd the basket for optimal crispiness.
