A classic, cozy lasagna that is easy to make and delicious, perfect for weeknight dinners or feeding a crowd.

- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt. Mix until smooth.
- In a baking dish, start layering: place sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella cheese, and repeat layers. Finish with noodles, sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
Leftovers taste even better the next day! This recipe can easily be doubled for larger groups.
