- 1 block firm tofu
- 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup for vegan option)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- Oil for frying
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture and cut it into cubes.
- In a bowl, whisk together honey (or maple syrup), minced garlic, soy sauce, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
- In a pan, heat oil over medium-high heat.
- Add tofu cubes and fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce over the tofu and stir to coat evenly.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Garnish with sliced green onions if desired and serve hot.
Notes
Feel free to adjust sweetness or add red pepper flakes for spice. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge.
