- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tbsp dried basil
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 12 oz no boil lasagna noodles
- 16 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook ground beef, onion, and garlic in a large skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce, crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Combine ricotta cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Mix until smooth.
- Spread a layer of meat sauce in a baking dish, followed by noodles, then ricotta mixture. Repeat layers finishing with meat sauce.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Cool for a few minutes before serving.
