- 1 lb ground beef
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
- 10 oz linguine noodles
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 4 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Cook the linguine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add minced garlic to the beef and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, ground black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Mix well.
- Combine cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry, then add to the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens, about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add cooked linguine to the skillet and toss until coated in the sauce.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
Notes
For added heat, substitute red pepper flakes with Sriracha. This dish can be made ahead and reheated; store leftovers in the fridge for up to three days.
