A comforting, easy casserole combining pizza flavors and crispy tater tots, perfect for lazy weekends.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- Optional toppings: mini pepperoni, olives, bell pepper, green onions, mushrooms
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook until browned and softened, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Drain excess grease from the skillet.
- Return the meat and onions to the skillet, then add marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and simmer for a couple of minutes.
- Spread the beef and sauce mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella over the beef.
- Arrange the tater tots in a single layer on top.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of the tater tots.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until tater tots are golden and cheese is bubbly.
- If using toppings, add them and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, swap ground beef with beans or plant crumbles.
