Spinach and Ricotta Stuffed Shells

Ingredients

  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup spinach, cooked and chopped
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to the package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, spinach, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stuff each shell with the cheese and spinach mixture.
  5. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Place the stuffed shells in the baking dish and cover with the remaining marinara sauce.
  7. Sprinkle additional mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  1. Feel free to customize the filling with your favorite ingredients or substitutes. Prepare ahead of time and refrigerate for convenience.
