Ingredients

  • Fresh bread (sub roll or Italian loaf, 8 to 10 inches)
  • Capicola (a few thin slices)
  • Mortadella (a few slices)
  • Genoa Salami (a handful of thin slices)
  • Provolone cheese (2 to 3 slices)
  • Optional toppings: iceberg or romaine lettuce, sliced tomatoes, red onion, pickles, or pepperoncini
  • Condiments: olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt, black pepper, oregano
  • Optional: a pinch of Italian seasoning or fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Slice the fresh bread lengthwise without cutting all the way through to create a hinge.
  2. Layer the Capicola, Mortadella, Genoa Salami, and Provolone cheese inside the bread.
  3. Optionally add your favorite toppings and drizzle with olive oil and red wine vinegar. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and oregano.
  4. Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful sub sandwich. Cut in half for shareability or leave whole.

Notes

  1. For a warm sandwich, toast it for a minute. If making ahead, assemble veggies separately to avoid soggy bread.
