Description
A quick and deliciously cheesy ground beef sandwich that hits the comfort food spot perfectly.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 slices sourdough or white bread
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium high and add the ground beef. Brown the beef and drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until translucent.
- Season with salt and pepper, stir in Worcestershire sauce, and pour in beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
- Simmer until sauce reduces and thickens. Taste and adjust seasoning, then set aside.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread and preheat a clean skillet over medium heat.
- Place two slices of bread butter side down, add cheddar, beef mixture, and mozzarella. Top with remaining bread, butter side up, and press gently.
- Grill each side for 3 to 4 minutes until golden and cheese melts. Flip carefully.
- Slice and serve warm with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Use freshly shredded cheese for best melting results. Don’t overcrowd the pan to avoid steaming the beef.
