Vegan Orange Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 block firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, orange juice, maple syrup, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper.
  3. Toss the tofu in the cornstarch until evenly coated.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  6. Pour the orange sauce over the tofu and stir to coat.
  7. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

  1. Ensure to press the tofu well for crispiness and avoid overcrowding the skillet.
